‘How to Cope’ was launched by Mr. Aogán Ó’Fearghail, President of the GAA and Professor Mark Morgan, St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra
in Croke Park on 22nd April 2015.
It was a very special event and over 100 people attended to support me and to wish the book well. It was a huge honour to have Aogán and Mark do the launch. Both men know me personally and Aogán referred to how I did teaching practice in his class over 30 years ago. Mark supervised my PhD research in St. Patrick’s College 1999-2001 and has become a close friend since. The event was hosted by my gifted Editor, Deirdre Nolan. who has worked with her team to transform my manuscript into the beautiful book it is.
I would like to thank Deirdre, Aogán and Mark for their very valued support and for their strong endorsement of ‘How to Cope’. I would also like to thank the entire team in Gill & Macmillan as well as Siobhan Brady and Teresa Daly who organised such a wonderful event. Special thanks also to Croke Park for providing such a beautiful venue and to my family, friends and treasured clients for turning the launch into a wonderful celebration. Finally, I would like to thank Arthur Carron for taking these photos and for giving me permission to use them on my website.
I am truly blessed and needed to read some of ‘How to Cope’ later that night as I felt overwhelmed by all the good wishes I received! The book is now well launched and I know from the feedback I have received already that it is making a difference.
